Peonies

My very favorite flower (so far). All of the colors are rich and beautiful but the shape of the head and the petals somehow reminds me of Animal from the Muppets. These flowers look almost like a sugary confection, and always look like they are going to a party!
I think they might be kind of a too-obvious choice to have at a wedding but I love the idea of throwing a few blossoms in Mason jars and scattering them all over the house.

Unsurprising that my favorite flower is also one of the most expensive. Definitely worth the splurge every once in a while

Brooklyn at Fish's Eddy

I bought these salt and pepper shakers from Fish's Eddy for my boyfriend's mom for Christmas last year. I love the drawing; it looks like what I love to think of when I think of Brooklyn and New York in general. An autumn day, a little overcast, gray cobblestone streets and the Brooklyn bridge, steam emanating from an old smokestack and the other little details of this beautiful amazing city. I am moving to Boston at the end of July and while I'm excited to get to know another city, I know how much I will miss Brooklyn so I am planning to buy this wonderful tray below to always remind me of home.

Virginia Johnson Scarves and Shawls

I have loved Virginia Johnson's textiles ever since I first saw one of her beautiful scarves on a girl in my drawing class at Parson's last spring. I love the bright rich hues, the simple, but comforting patterns and the drapey quality of the fabrics. They are a little pricier than most accessories I would otherwise consider, but so beautiful that I think owning one would make the cost-per-wear totally worth it!

I love the pink chevron and the yellow sailboat, but as elephants are my favorite animal this one is particularly close to my heart!
